Privacy on Whooo

We measure page views and clicks that launch external games and projects to understand which parts of Whooo are useful. These counts do not tell us whether someone played a game or represent a count of unique people.

What is collected

When analytics collection is enabled for this site, we store daily totals by page, action, game or project, and approximate country, region and city. IP addresses are used briefly on our server to look up location in a local database; they are not saved in our analytics database or sent to a location service. Location can be inaccurate, particularly with VPNs and mobile networks.

Our analytics uses no tracking cookies or visitor identifiers. It does not collect query strings, browsing history or the contents of forms. Global Privacy Control and browser Do Not Track signals disable this collection. Reports are private and accessed only on the server. Daily aggregate counts are retained for up to 12 months.

Server logs

General web-server access and error logs are separate from analytics and may contain IP addresses and request details for operating and troubleshooting the website. The analytics collection endpoint is excluded from access logging.

External sites and sharing

Games and projects open on other websites with their own privacy practices. An invite button shares a Whooo page using your device’s sharing tools, or copies a link for you to send. Whooo does not automatically send invitations or record recipients.
